If you’re at all familiar with audiobooks, then surely you’re familiar with the name Scott Brick.

He’s something of a living legend in our burgeoning industry, having narrated more than a whopping 600 audiobooks—many of them bestsellers: Moneyball, In Cold Blood, The Bourne Identity, Farenheit 451, and many, many more—in just over a decade.  Wow.  We probably don’t have to tell you that even for a very busy narrator, that’s a lot.  Not only is Scott an incredibly gifted and sought-after narrator, not to mention a Golden Voice, but he’s also a writer.  As a screenwriter and recent novelist, he’s spent much of his time on the other side of the mic, penning the pages meant for people like him to read, and now that we think of it, that’s likely part of the reason why he’s just so darn good at what he does.

Gabrielle was the first director Scott worked with, on his very first audiobook—sort of a “George Washington Slept Here” claim to fame on her part.  Since then, we’ve continued to have the pleasure of working with Scott as a friend and collaborator on many projects over the years.  Stefan directed Scott and Gabrielle in the leads of Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale at the Knightsbridge Theatre a few years back.  Scott narrated the lead in the Shadow Series, where he played Bean.  He also played a part in the original ENDER’S GAME and starred in The Delivery, the short film written and directed by Gabrielle (see the trailer below).  Additionally, he narrated, along with Stefan Rudnicki and John Rubinstein, the upcoming REPORT FROM NUREMBERG, which will be released in late November.

For ENDER’S GAME ALIVE, Scott played a handful of cameo roles, simply because we knew that he could bring true character and that golden voice to a variety of parts.  He played the Pilot, exchanging dialogue with the great Harlan Ellison as the Tower, which was just plain fun for everyone involved.  Additionally, he gave voice to both the Announcer and Computer, creating a real human behind one and a distinct human-less character behind the other.  He also reads the titles and closing credits, which are almost longer than the audioplay itself.  You know how the credits roll for hours at the end of big budget CGI films?  Well, this audioplay was the equivalent, and we and Audible wanted credit due where credit was due.  It takes a village, folks.

To say we’re lucky ducks to be working with such incredible talent is an understatement to say the least.  Keep checking back for more cast spotlights and follow us @SkyboatMedia for the latest on this project and many more!
