Here in Hollywood, some families are just show business families, and The Bews family just happens to be one of our all time favorites.

The charming and bubbly matriarch of the family, Judy Bews née Young, is a classically trained actress turned narrator extraordinaire, having voiced countless children’s books, inspirational novels, and many more.  For ENDER’S GAME ALIVE, she took on several roles: Shafts, American, and Librarian, and those were only the parts that had names.  In addition to popping into the booth whenever we needed her, she also kept us all organized and informed as Production Coordinator, which, we hope we don’t need to tell you, is no small feat.  And as if she had some extra time to spare (she didn’t), she was also happy to clown around a bit with the receptionist at Marc Graue studios, as you’ll see in the video above.  And last but not least, Judy has also done us all the pleasure of passing on her talents to her progeny, daughters Alison and Emily.

Alison and Emily both attend a performing arts high school here in LA, where they excel in a variety of expression: acting, dance, and creative writing, just to name a few.  On the set of ENDER’S GAME ALIVE, they were as professional as ever, studying their lines, taking direction, and stunning us in scenes just as much as the adults they played opposite.  Emily played Han Tzu, lovingly known as Hot Soup, and Alison played the role of Abram, but both girls provided support and their lovely, childlike voices in several scenes, filling in the gaps and helping us to stay true to the fact that so many of OSC’s characters are children.  It should also be mentioned that Alison also worked as our social media intern, Tweeting up a storm and spreading the word in every sci-fi and fantasy message board imaginable.  Yep, there are just certain times when teens are more knowledgable than adults.  But seriously, we adore these girls, and we can’t wait to see where they take their outrageous talents in the future.
